Your turn! Choose one core word each week to model using AAC throughout the day in a variety of contexts, teaching the full concept of that word. Aim for 100 repetitions each day! This sounds like a lot, but it isa great opportunity for collaboration across all team members.

Context

Use this strategy for new AAC learners. During this phase, you are modeling, and there is no communication expectation from them. Each week, add a new WOW, creating a cumulative language repertoire.

Tip

Speak in full sentences, but only model the WOW using AAC. For those using core boards or AAC devices, remember this as “point & say!”
