Build motivation and resilience by visually tracking progress toward a goal.

How

Choose one or two skills to teach or promote, then decide what items or activities can be earned. Set clear rules for how tokens are earned and when they can be exchanged. Make sure they earn rewards often enough to stay engaged. Adjust over time—like increasing the number of tokens needed. Token boards are best for short-term teaching and should be faded as progress is made.

Context

Token boards are often used with younger learners. For older learners, try the Individual Points Plan. Choose target skills the learner already knows but needs more motivation to do regularly.

Tip
