When giving instructions that the learner has shown they can do, follow the three steps to gradually increase your support in assisting the learner with completing the instruction. Keep instructions clear and concise to improve understanding, reduce cognitive load, and prevent misinterpretation.

Use this strategy for instructions you find yourself repeating most often. Have a plan for how you’ll gradually increase support to help the learner with these tasks.
